PC will not allow the connection of remote software
i brought this laptop home because a friend needs to allow remote connections at work.I have tried tightvnc,logmein and teamviewer 5 and every time I install it says cannot connect to server for each prog due to proxy settings.I have made sure no proxies are used on this machine,it has the same problem on their business network as it does here on my private one even tho my machines run them without issue.I have flushed the dns and set a static dns but that is not it.I have also thoroughly with the firewall and the virus software has no firewall,it uses windows firewall.HELP!

Have you checked the Connections settings under Internet Explorer's Internet Options? IE proxies can affect everything on the PC because of it's integration with the OS.

All I did was run HighjackThis and skimmed through for a entry for any security software and that's when I noticed Norton.I double checked to see if it was installed and it wasn't so I knew it was a reidual entry and deleted it and there you go.I hope this helps.
