Pop3 not working after Small business 2003 Exchange transfer

Hi,
I am in the middle of a small business server 2003 migration. I am using this step by step for it:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc747454(WS.10).aspx
I have almost everything running on the new server. I can send mails too. My mailboxes are stored on the destination server, but if i turn off the pop3 on the source server, i am not able to receive mails.
All processes are running on the destination server. In the logs i have this:
1) The POP3 server responded to the Microsoft Connector POP3 Mailboxes connection with: <+OK Hello there>
2) Access was denied to the mailbox .... ... logging on as ........ Verify the password for the mailbox account and try again Event ID:1029
3) An error occurred during the POP3 transaction to server. The error is 0 (The operation completed succesfully)

Our exteranal mail server is running linux.
If i try to connect from the source server... there are a lot of logs.. about authentication.. etc
but from the destination server just that connected.. disconnected.

Could you please help me to fix this?

Thanks
best regards
Patrik

On the destination server, have you run the CEICW Wizard?   On the router, is all port forwarding changed over to the new server?
Hi, yes, i have run the wizard. SMTP is working fine. On the router nothing was changed, it is not needed. All the settings should be the same.
Here is the log from the external email server. If I want to download mails via pop3 with the destination server (not working):

Jun 18 13:33:34 servername pop3d-ssl: LOGIN: ip=[::ffff:destpop3IP], command=USER
Jun 18 13:33:34 servername pop3d-ssl: LOGIN: ip=[::ffff:destpop3IP], command=PASS
Jun 18 13:33:34 servername pop3d-ssl: LOGIN: ip=[::ffff:destpop3IP], command=USER
Jun 18 13:33:34 servername pop3d-ssl: LOGIN: ip=[::ffff:destpop3IP], command=USER
Jun 18 13:33:34 servername pop3d-ssl: LOGIN: ip=[::ffff:destpop3IP], command=PASS
Jun 18 13:33:34 servername pop3d-ssl: LOGIN: ip=[::ffff:destpop3IP], command=PASS
Jun 18 13:33:34 servername pop3d-ssl: Disconnected, ip=[::ffff:destpop3IP]
Jun 18 13:33:34 servername pop3d-ssl: Disconnected, ip=[::ffff:destpop3IP]

Jun 18 13:33:34 servername pop3d-ssl: Connection, ip=[::ffff:destpop3IP]

But from the source server (code attached)

Jun 18 13:42:44 mailservername pop3d-ssl: LOGIN, user=user1@company.com, ip=[::ffff:serverIP], port=[40276]
Jun 18 13:42:45 mailservername pop3d-ssl: LOGOUT, user=user1@company.com, ip=[::ffff:serverIP], port=[40276], top=0, retr=0, rcvd=12, sent=39, time=1

Open in new window

I have analyzed the packets with wireshark, the pop3 sends the details, Username is ok but Password field is empty? how is this possible?
