Evnet id 10016 - DCOM & DFS
hi
Changed some permissions on a share that were replicate offsite to another server and this appears to have caused the following error:
The machine-default permission settings do not grant Remote Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{3B35075C-01ED-45BC-9999-D C2BBDEAC17 1}
to the user CHURCHHOUSE\DRadministrato r SID (S-1-5-21-1960408961-88435 7618-83952 2115-4122) . This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
the primiary DFS server is now no longer able to replicate files to the DR server. the DR server can though!
DFS errors:
Cannot connect to reporting DCOM server.
Description: Access is denied.
Last occurred: 23 June 2010 at 11:07:03 (GMT0:00)
Suggested action: Verify that Windows Server 2003 R2 is installed on the server and that RPC traffic is not blocked by firewalls or port filtering. For information about troubleshooting RPC issues see RPC KB 839880.
Server (1 error) (View Server Details)

its now replicating fine, but its the reporting aspect that is coming up with the error:
SERVERS UNAVAILABLE FOR REPORTING (1 server not reporting)(Hide All)
"server" (1 error) (View Server Details)
Cannot connect to reporting DCOM server.
i have checked all the DCOM settings and permissions etc and all look fine.
