Have you given the folder on the NAS any permissions? I am not familiar with that model, but with our EMC one, you have go specify folder permissions on the NAS folder itself. <br />

I am trying to setup backup to disk folders in backup exec 2010. &nbsp;I can browse to the folder i want to use which is on a seagate blackarmour NAS 440. &nbsp;I can select the folder but when i click on ok to create the new backup to disk folder i get an error that says &quot;The specified user does not exist.&quot;<br />

I am very new to backup exec and do not know what user they are referring to--the user logged into the server? &nbsp;I can map to the drive and see the share I am going to when I do a net view at a c: prompt.<br />

Can anyone offer any advice or insight into this?<br />

I am trying to setup backup to disk folders in backup exec 2010.  I can browse to the folder i want to use which is on a seagate blackarmour NAS 440.  I can select the folder but when i click on ok to create the new backup to disk folder i get an error that says "The specified user does not exist."

I am very new to backup exec and do not know what user they are referring to--the user logged into the server?  I can map to the drive and see the share I am going to when I do a net view at a c: prompt.

The term "Backup" means the methods and processes involved to copy computer data (system data as well as application data) to media other than the ones where the data originally live (disk, tape, optical, cloud).
