I'm trying to save an email in Outlook 2003, but I can't see the save as "outlook message format" option in the drop down box. Does anyone know how to get that in to the drop down?

try not to open the email... select it from the mailbox list, then click File>Save As.

check if that helps.

I'm trying to create the email. Do you mean save it as draft first and then select from the Draft list?

Are you trying to save to a dos folder ... if so just drag and drop

yes.. that is what you have to do.

Try to save it as draft first. Then from draft folder, select it then File>Save As

but no one else has to do that in their outlook, when other users create emails they can save as outlook message format without saving to draft first
You need to use the 'Save As'  option.

If you can't see 'Outlook Message Format' when you use this option, then it then you may be using Word as your editor.

Select Tools / Options / Mail Format     and un-tick the two 'Use Microsoft Office Word to edit ......' tick boxes.

Now create a new mail and you should see save as - with option to save as message format.
