Activesync issues with Exchange 2003

I am have some issues with users in my organization who forward messages with either their palm pre or droid device using exchange active sync.  When they forward an e-mail with an attachment the e-mail comes through as a .msg but the attachment is not in the e-mail.  It is like somehow the message gets stripped of the attachment.  I need help with fixing this issue.  It sounds like it is an issue with exchange.  Please provide some assistance.

Thanks

It seems to be more of an issue with Droid and Palm Pre.  Does that sound correct to anyone?
Lets run some tests.

a) Go here
http://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/

Run ActiveSync and AS Autodiscover tests and see what that throws up.

Please report back

Is this run on the exchange server or the devides that are having issues?
You can run it from any workstation.
This is a web-based test, where it checks your exchange setup and finds issues with it.

Hi
sorry for the delay in replying.

Errors in ExRCA:
a) The test of the FolderSync command failed
b) Testing of this potential Autodiscover URL failed.
c) Failed to contact AutoDiscover using the DNS SRV redirect method.

Resolutions:

a) Please check this article by Alan Hardisty
https://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Server_Software/Email_Servers/Exchange/A_1798-Exchange-2003-Activesync-Connection-Problems-FAQ.html

HTTP 403
Forms based authentication
Ensure that Forms Based Authentication is NOT turned on under Exchange Virtual Server under Exchange Protocols (Exchange System Manager, Servers, Protocols, HTTP, Exchange Virtual Server properties, Settings Tab).  If it is -- read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817379

B) and C)
Check this
http://forums.msexchange.org/m_1800497404/mpage_1/tm.htm#1800511512

I created a new domain alias called autodiscover.domain.com
I created a new A host record for autodiscover pointed to the IP of remote.domain.com
I created a new folder under the website domain.com called autodiscover
I created a new file in that folder called autodiscover.xml
I used IIS (on the web hosting site, not SBS/Exchange server) to redirect and requests for the autodiscover.xml file to redirect to https://remote.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml

Hope this helps.
Dude
If you are still hanging in there with this issue, can you try something else also. (provided the previous post didnt fix it..)

Go here and download this tool.
http://mobilitydojo.net/files/EAS_MD_0.9b.exe

Here's how to use it.
http://mobilitydojo.net/2010/03/30/rolling-your-own-exchange-activesync-client/

Try out the basic sync.

This tool gives more verbose results than ExRCA - and can give application level errors instead of HTTP 505 related errors.

Let me know what it throws up.

thanks
