Hi,

Thanks for the quick replies. When we go to administrative tools we get no Server Manager Selection from the list??
I believe you are using windows 2003, I am also having this problem in my environment as well.  We found this is generally happening when the server resources are full and also too many clients on the database.  Please check the server performance?  What happens if you reboot the box?

Regarding adding server roles, this option is for 2008.  You can go into Add / Remove windows components and select IIS. Inside you can choose ASP.Net

Hi,

Yes we are using Windows 2003. If we reboot the box we still get the same error in WSUS. Went into add/remove windows compnents. selected IIS and inside ASP.net was already ticked and selected.
The server performance is not to bad although is a very old one, due for replacement soon.
You might want to reinstall WSUS, be sure to choose/deselect database, logs, and downloaded updates.

Hi,

We decided to reinstall on another server as the one it was on is due for replacement anyway. The only issue we are having now with the new install is getting the clients to connect to the WSUS update server to download updates. It was being done through GP for the old install.

You'll need to update your group policy to point to the new server

Hi, We have done that step and it still seems not to pick up any client computers. We have also ran gpupdate /force and wuauclt.exe /detectnow to try and make them connect.
Use the /resetauthorization /detectnow switch
