How do I backup my VPN connections in Windows 7? The connections were created using Windows 7 Network and Sharing Centre.

That is difficult, as the passwords are stored in the SAM, which is part of the registry, and can't be exported. The only way to backup this is by backing up SYSTEMSTATE, which contains the registry and many more. This needs to be supported by the backup software you use.

All connection info but the password is stored in the rasphone.pbk file, which is located in
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Network\Connections\Pbk (%APPDATA% usually is C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\)

The NirSoft tools aren't able to retrieve passwords in many cases anymore, at least with Vista and W7.

System Requirements
This utility works under Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003/2008, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. The passwords are revealed only if you log on to the computer with administrator privileges. If you need to recover your dialup passwords from Windows 9x/ME, you can use Dialupass v2.45
