Emails & Word freezing image flashing

Hello,

Our Office 2003 and Office 2007 have been experiencing some issues recently. Most of the time it is caused by our email signature that contains 2 jpg images.

When they reply to a certain emails the images on the signatures start flashing and the Outlook freezes, it seems to be caused by word.exe. When I kill that process, Outlook starts working normally (but it closes the reply window). Now if I remove the signature from the reply or just create a new email it does not flash/blink and the email goes through without any problems.

Does anyone have a clue to what could cause this? It does not happen to all emails, but it's frequent enough to become annoying.

In Outlook, go to Tools>Options and go to the Mail Format tab. Uncheck 'Use Word 2003 as email editor' and try sending the email with the signature. If it goes thru fine, then this confirms that the problem is with Word, and you may want to try doing a 'Detect and Repair' in Word 2003 (I believe it is under the Help menu in Word).

Yes, I've verified that it confirmed that the problem is only there when that box is checked. I already did the Detect and Repair in Outlook and Word, still no luck. Office is updated also.

It works, but only on Office 2003, 2007 does not allow to turn off that setting...
