I am looking for "Cookbook" type book recommendations for Adobe CS4.  I love the "cookbook" format for learning new software.

I can google and look on Amazon, so please only recommend books you have read and use a lot.  A professional's review would help me a lot in narrowing my choices down.

Thank you,

Tom

Hi Tom,

I'm not sure about any actual books but I taught myself Photoshop by using online tutorials, I've used these websites before and are really good at teaching you everything from the basics up to advanced tutorials.

Hope they help!

These links are actually quite good!

But I'd still like someone to weigh in with some book recommendations.
Photoshop is such a vast program, there is no single book that can teach you all that you need to know. Besides, if there were, it would be outdated before you could finish reading it. :-)

I use Adobe's Classroom in a Book as one of the best starter books. It covers a lot of ground in a short period of time without a lot of extra dialogue.

There are others that get you into the nuts and bolts with more detail, but Classroom in a Book is the best for cutting your teeth.
