How to create own recovery partition like IBM recovery partition?

I want to create my own recovery partition for windows XP OS  in my Desktop pc. If any problem in OS, I want to restore the OS from recovery partition. I have seen this kind of setup in IBM laptops. It possible to make like this?

use a software such as acronis trueimage with a recovery partition press f11 which then starts acronis recovery system

another tool that can do this bootable partition called Backup Capsule: http://www.paragon-software.com/home/db-professional/
Once you install the product you need to run Manage Backup Capsule wizard. It will let you create protected partition at the end of your HDD. It is made bootable. Since then you can backup your system to this partition and bind the boot to recovery mode to any F key (F1-F12). After restart you will get prompt to press the key to start recovery environment.
