eMachines E4076 System Recovery

I am trying to do a system recovery on an eMachines PC with no luck.

I have tried F11 but it keeps asking me for disc 1 which I haven't got.

Can anybody suggest another way around it?

Many Thanks.

I don't know how you are going to do it without the disk. It might be easier to fix the problem. What problem are you trying to fix?

Hi edbedb,

I would like to sell the PC so would like to wipe everything on the PC.

Do you know of a place where I could get hold of the recovery discs?

Following on from edbedb's post I'd use delprof http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=901a9b95-6063-4462-8150-360394e98e1e to wipe old accounts from the system.

Then use Hard Disk Scrubber http://www.summitcn.com/hdscrub.html to blank the unused part of the hard disk.  This will stop any recovery operations that will attempt to recover files.

If you need a disk contact eMachines.  They will probably sell you a disk at minimum cost.

I have a copy of Vista on it which I don't wish to sell with it so I think it looks like I will have to contact eMachines.  Many Thanks.
