Acquire Text in Excel 2007

In Excel 2003 there was a function called Acquire Text, does anyone know how we can do this in Excel 2007 please

I thought the phrase "Aquire Text" was put in by an Omnipage addon. Did you have this installed with previous excel 2003?

Thank you that is entirely possible, would omnipage software come with a scanner, have not got it installed now but might have been installed before.  It was so that a document could be scanned and hte figures come into excel so that we could use them in calculations i.e. telephone bill

That sounds like the case. If you do not have the Omnipage disk, there are other programs that will read the text. It is called OCR.

The free one in office works, but is not the best. It may be god enough for you though. I would try using what you have first before purchasing a product. If you could find that Omnipage disk though, that would be the best.
