I have this in my inittab:

pps1:2345:respawn:/opt/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/base_domain/bin/startManagedWebLogic.sh dev_server1

I want it to be owned by weblogic, isn't there a way via the admin console to change ownership of this pid from root to weblogic?

If you have a Unix machine defined when you go to Environment | Machines, you should be able to change the post-bind User ID and Group ID to whatever you need them to be.  Do you have a weblogic user or service account on the server already?

This is a Linux box.  I have attached a screen shot of the Machine I want to enable pot-bind on.

Looks like something is missing...

For now, leave this machine "as-is" and create a new machine via the admin console.  When you create the new machine, be sure to make is a "unix machine" instead of just a regular machine.  Answer the remaining questions and then assign the server to that Unix machine from the general tab for that server.
Once you restart the server after you've created and configured the unix machine, it should be running as the correct user.  Let us know if you're still having problems.  Also, it is OK to hold off on accepting the answer until your problem is resolved so that you'll be sure to get a complete solution to your issue.
