My computer fried so I'm giving my friend my 9800gt to replace his fried 8800. I put the card in the pci slot and hooked in the 6 pin connector from the PSU. The only thing is that on my computer there was one more small cable hooked into the video card from the motherboard. This cable plugs in to a white connector right beside the SLI slot. Does anyone know what this connector is for? There doesn't seem to be anywhere to plug it into on his motherboard. The card works fine without it hooked in but I want to make sure that leaving it off will not harm anything.

Thanks

This cable is the SPDIF cable, basically it allows audio to play from your pc to a tv or monitor with speakers.
Commented:
Its an audio connector, completely unnecessary if you have on-board audio.
