Backup Exec 12.5 asking for Remote Agent to backup data shared through VM.
I have a 64 bit Windows 2003 Server installed on a machine with a SAS storage unit attached and backup exec is installed on the local OS.
I then have a VM installed in VMware which is 32 bit Windows 2003 Server, the SAS storage is mapped to this VM and is a shared drive to our other servers.
I am trying to backup the data from the shared drive in the VM, using backup exec on the local OS but keep getting the error that I need to purchase a license for remote agent.
I have tried adding User Defined Selections to the share \\SERVER\Data which lets me select the directories required but I still get the same error.
I am trying to avoid the large cost of an agent license.
Any ideas? Thanks.
