Windows XP Professional desktop with a HP LaserJet 1022 connected with a USB cable. Printer was shared and remote Windows 7 Professional client (32 bit) prints without issue.

XP desktop was replaced with Windows 7 Professional desktop (32 bit). New printer share created and Windows 7 32 bit drivers were downloaded and installed from HP’s website.  Jobs print locally fine; remote print job are stuck in print queue until spooler service is restarted. Once remote jobs are stuck in the print queue; local jobs are also stuck in queue until spooler service is restarted.

Recreated printer, share and reinstall driver without success.

Saw some similar issues over on the HP forum, but no answers.

I think the Windows 7 driver is the problem.

Any ideas?

Have you tried reinstalling the printer using the XP drivers?

On the search bar, type Print Management. Select Print Management. Under Print Servers>'computer name'>Drivers, right click on the current drivers for that printer and select to Remove Driver Package. Close out and re-install the drivers you have downloaded (you know, those plug and pray ones from HP). I tried looking for Postscript drivers for that printer, without success (they have them for MAC of all things). I am thinking you are using the Windows 7 drivers, even though you have 're-installed'.

Thanks for the replies. XP driver will not install. Windows 7 driver was uninstalled and reinstalled without success.

This is definitely an issue with their Windows 7 driver. Swapped this printer out for another more recent model and everything works as if should.

HP said OS files were corrupt and I should contact Microsoft.

I'll split the points equally for your replies.
