outlook 2007 requesting password with new exchange hosted service.

We have just moved to a new hosted exchange service with rackspace.

Every few minutes I get a dialog box popping up saying enter password.

Saved password is ticked and password entered is correctly.

IT guy at rackspace says it could be to do with the ISP.

I've seen this problem with several machines in my office (though we're using an internal Exchange server, so I'm not sure if my solution will be 100% applicable).  Folks are getting the popup for credentials when either the connection to the mail server drops and tries to reconnect, or if they haven't entered their full username, and specified the correct authentication server (i.e. DOMAIN\USERNAME).  I've found that with our internal Outlook-Exchange configuration, Outlook defaults to trying to authenticate to the mail server instead of our domain controller.  You're issue may be related.

ok, so ive read the docs read your notes, so there isnt much I can do?

Holddown Ctrl key and right click Outlook icon in systray. Chose Test Email Autoconfiguration, remove checkmarks for guessmart and write in e-mail address and password. run the test and check that Autodiscover works.
The password box might come because the client maybe dosent reach some of the URLS.
F.eks if it cant reach OAB or the correct OAB permissions arent set, then it will ask for password all the time.

also run test at www.testexchangeconnectivity.com



Done the test via right click Outlook icon in systray.
