Hi,

I have been asked to assess my company IT infrastructure and provide a complete document / report on the existing infrastructure and provide details to improve it. Is there any document, report I can use to create all these reports.

We normally create an excel file for this but no particular format
like
Name,User,IP,Description.
I am attaching file for your reference how we implemented.

Rajesh, thanks for the sugession but here I am looking to have a complete IT Infrastucture audit not just the pc hardware. Also provide a overall recommendation. Do you have any sugession or template as such.
Dear prashantae,

What you're asking for is very difficult to answer, as there are so many things you can document, and recommendations of what to improve entirely depends upon what your findings are.
First I'd recommend you contact a local company with the expertise you'd need - eventually an external IT audit company with CISA auditors. Even if this company do not tehmselves have the specialists to assist you (which I do assume they have!), they'd be able to recommend you other companies who do.

Second, you must consider and tell us here, what it is you will be looking into (when you write "infrastructure").
Are you to document/recommend on:
a. External threats?
b. Internal threats?
c. All your data or only specific data?
d. Systems, network, physical access/security?
e. What are your goals with the documentation/recommendation?

Third, a very good starting point for you to narrow down what to look into, would be to have an external company perform an ITIL based BIA (Business Impact Analysis), via which you will be able to identify the most important areas.

P.S. If your infrastructure is Windows/AD based, you can have a rudimentary look into this using the "Microsoft Active Directory Topology Diagrammer" http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=cb42fc06-50c7-47ed-a65c-862661742764&displaylang=en but again it all depends on what are

Kind regards,
Soren

This did not give me a solution but I'll give this to him as this guided me to at least some place.
