SharePoint - Tasks Change Tracking

I have previously used a sharepoint task list to show all previous changes to tasks, but i cant seem to find that functionality now.

When I click on an individual task on the list, I want it to bring up all the details, as well as records shown below of all changes since inception of the task, and who made the change(s). It should show something like a crossed out line, and then show the new item with all the changes incorporated and also show the last set of changes, and the changes before that, all grouped together and in the form of a task that is "no longer accurate." I hope this general idea is coming across....see image below for the 'page type' I am starting from.

I can click on a link to see previous versions when I have versioning enable, but that is not what i am looking for. User generated image

I will try that when i get back in the office on Tuesday. I knew that it was a possibility that the previous function had been made by someone in the group.

thanks...will close this question in a few days if no other comments.
looks like at my corp. the email features are disabled, nothing i can do about it. thanks for the input though.
wasn't able to achieve what I was looking for, but learned that specific coding/dev. was required to get what I desired. recommendation was made, but unable to implement.
