GNS Lab using Layer 3 switches ?


Dear EE
 
I am new in using GNS simulator ..i need to ask you a question how i can simulate Layer3 switch using GNS ( switch 4510 for example )
Please advice me in details step by step

first you would need the IOS for the 4510.  In GNS 3 you can load any valid IOS.

Once you have the IOS installed enter the router config CLI and enter the command "ip routing", that will enable routing on the switch.
last time I checked, there is no such device (4510); what you will need to do is get an image for the 3725/3745 and install the NM-ESW-16 (16 port switch module) and configure the 3725/3745 to use this module so that you can utilize ip routing, vlans, dot1q etherchannel, etc. There are many things you can not do, but what you can do is enough to pass your CCNA/CCNP and others have used it for their CCIE.

So I cant add new Component ( Like Switches ) to GNS
