Hello EE,

I have the following Circle that I created using the Eclipse Tool in Illustrator CS5. It was a circle but I had to use the "Path Eraser Tool" in order to remove parts of the circle as you see in the image that I hvae attached. The problem that I'm facing which is what I need help with it make a "Straight Cut or Erase" on the "Circle" above the "E" instead of it part of the curve that I erased. I just don't know how to do this in Illustrator CS5 and I'm a noobie to Illustrator. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi

The simplest would be to overlay the edge with a white square and group it with the circle.

Other wise you can do an outline stroke of the Object (Object > Outline Stroke) which creates a solid object from what is now a thick line. Then you can use the Direct Selection Tool (white arrow) to select the lower corner of the object only (so that it is dark whilst others are not = unselected) and adjust with the baseline of the other corner.
