I am trying to connect a W7 Pro Comp to a SBS 2003 domain. I did install the update kb 926505, but it makes no difference. It asks 'Do you want to connect to the network', I say yes, and then I get an empty screen and on the bottom 'Done'. That is all.

HI there,

ON the Win7 machine you can right click my computer and choose properties and then choose the change settings, then click the change button and put in the network settings there, you may not need the .local depending upon your dns setup.

report back
if you followed integrityoffice direction and still didn't work try to do a windows 7 repair or install latest  service pack

Gentlemen, thank you, but a restart finished the problem. Apperently the sbs2003- patch was working, though it didnt ask for a restart.
