Unable to reset Dell Powerconnect 6248 to Factory Defaults
I am attempting to reset a Dell PowerConnect 6248 to factory defaults. I have issued the following command from enable mode:
clear config
I then attempt to copy the running-config to startup-config by issuing the following command:
copy running-config startup-config
it appears to save the running-config to the startup-config, because I can issue a show running-config and it appears to have reset the config, but when I issue the reload command to reboot the switch the factory-default config appears to have been wiped out
I also tried resetting the config by selecting the "Start Boot Menu" option and selecting option 10, "Restore configuration to factory defaults", but this does work.
The switch is running older firmware - 1.0.0.27.
Any advice / guidance as to how I can troubleshoot and resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
David J.
