Navisphere/Unisphere can handle alerting and health. Navisphere Analyzer has more metrics than you'll ever know how to use. EMC Control Centre does SAN monitoring and alerting, too.

Symantec's CommandCentral Storage is a nifty product that will handle performance monitoring and alerting, but it's a bit of a sod to set up.

When you open, Navisphere, you will find monitor tab. Here you can configure email home and dial home templates.
Email home template is easy to configure. You can select explicit(hundreds  of them) or general alerts(critical & error only) alerts . when ever an checked incident occur you will be alerted with an email.

Unishpere is still new and is supported from flare 30.x.x i think.

EMC control center is other option to monitor.

For Performance use Navisphere analyzer which is in build in navisphere. this will provide you 24 back data unless you have *.nar files collected every 24 hrs.
