Exchange SP2 on SBS 2008 empty splash screen

Hi, I've been upgrading SP2 on many SBS 2008 without any problems, but now there is one. This SBS08 already has win SP2 and updated with the latest patches. When I launching the Exch SP2, the splash screen comes out with empy boxes and cannot click anywhere. I also tried with the Exch SP2 tool but still same thing. I downloaded Windows installer 4.5 x64 (Windows6.0-KB942288-v2-x64.msu) but is tells that it's seaching for updates and then "update does not apply to your system". Any suggestions?

Download SP3 for Exchange 2007. The Wrapper and other components that were required by Ex 2007 SP2 are integrated so no messing around is needed.

Same issue with SP3
Try first to prepare the schema...

setup /PrepareSchema

and then the AD

setup /PrepareAD
Please post the KBxxxxxx.log here. It is usually in the C:\Windows directory. It may be found in the Exchange directory if not there though.

Are you right clicking on the service pack file and "Run As Administrator"?

Is Forefront installed? If so, did you shut down the FF services before running the SP?

Any third party A/V that is riding on top of Exchange for e-mail sanitation? If so, shut those services down.

Use ProcessExplorer and Monitor to watch what is happening while the SP is running to pinpoint the source of the problem.

No KBs logs in windows folder, no Forefront installed, run as administrator, antivirus already disabled.
Thanks Thethical, the first time I launched a prepareschema it came out that there was a pending installation, then the 2nd time setup encountered an error. I suppose I have to check the registry for the pending installations and then see what happens
To troubleshoot further please reffer Exchange setup log file for error as why it is failing.

In the Exchange setup log there are no records, everytime I execute the setup the exchange setup log does not change at all, even the modified date does not change. I tried. I cleared all the temp files but same thing. It looks like it doesn't even get to the stage to execute as it's only a splash screen...
