TMG 2010 SP1

Hey EE,

I have a working TMG server on my test environment and its works great and I read all the new features on the SP1 and interested on installing it but I failed to do that and I tried all possible solution on the below link but no luck with the below error.

MY TMG is evaluation version (TechNet plus). Is there are any restrictions on installing SP1 on evaluation versions?

Hi Keith,

I've saved the file on the server and followe all the steps mentioned on the below link but the same error appeared:

So I've downloaded the TMG final version and then tried to install the service pack using the same steps and you will be surprised when you know that service pack has been installed without any problems.

The problem is now solved but I need to know the main reason for that as its my first time to face a problems on installing any updates on an evaluated version of any Microsoft Products.

This has now been reported by another source as well so looks like it may be a bug (or by design).

As previously expected , I have upgraded the evaluation version of TMG2010 Ent. Edition by installing the full released version on the current server and then tried to install the Service Pack and it does work :-)
