Hi There,

I have sbs 2003 running with exchange, I would like to setup a couple of clients to be able to utilise the rpc over https using their self signed certificate that automatically generates when you install sbs 2003. I have already tried importing the certificate into the trusted root certificate authority but still no go.

Can someone give me a couple of pointers?

Thanks
Ty

You need to ensure,

1) The "issued to" name on the certificate is the same URL used to configure RPC over HTTP (typically OWA URL).
2) Ensure the Certificate is trusted. Test it on a client computer by browsing the URL using a Internet explorer and confirming that you do not get any certificate warning.

Couple of articles which might help you,

first configure  RPC over http

and then  configure outlook to use the server name that you used in the certificate
