HI all,

as in the title, im trying to install kasperksy admin kit on two of my domain controllers, half way through the install i get error 1923, something to do with not having permissions to install services.

ive already installed it on one domain controller with no problems with my account

what ive tried:
running install as administrator
running install as another user with admin rights (my account is enterprise administrator)
editied local security policies tried to add whats needed (link below) and got some server 2000 errors even though im on 2008 (see screen)
http://support.kaspersky.com/ak8/ak_install?qid=208280627

so for some unknown reason my 2008 r2 server belives its older thatn 2000? not getting that :S

you might try elevating the UAC prompts or disabling UAC completely for the installation.

Is this installation of 2008 R2 x32 or x64?  I don't see that 2008 R2 x64 is supported here.  I appears that it's explicitly implied if it is.  Also, have you downloaded the latest release of 8.0?

well, that's it for me.  I'm outta ideas except to contact support...sorry.

Actually, another option you have would be to Request Attention for this question and ask a moderator to modify the zones to get more exposure to your question.  Also, they can send notices out to experts who handle these questions specifically.
got in touch with support...

problem is now solved, i had to do a custom installation and provide credentials that way

so thats the answer if anyone needs it

glad you got it.  did you suggest to support that they include this in the documentation?  when i read through the manual, i looked for that.  since i didn't see it, thought it was a wrong direction...anywho.
