BES 4.1.5.26 on Exchange 2003 / Server 2003 co-existing with Exch 2010 / Server 2008

Trying to have my new Exch 2010/Server 2008 box work with my existing Exch 2003/server 2003 box running BES 4.1. I migrated myself over to the new box and my email/outlook/web access are all working except for my blackberry. When I attempt to re-activate my device I get an error "An error occurred while assigning the device to the user. The user is not yet known to the BB agent...." . Even after hours the same message displays as if BES cannot located my info on the new server.
I believe that I gave BESADMIN the correct permissions on the new server.

Any ideas, suggestions or input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

According to Blackberry Support these can be one of the 4 reasons.
I think it's reason #2 for you.

Please check if this works.

MAGT Logs are here.

I do not see that error in the log but I do have this one.

MAPIMailbox::MAPIMailbox(2) - ResolveName[1] success
MailboxManager::GetMailboxSession - Using MAPI profile 'BlackBerryServer'
{j} MAPIMailbox::MAPIMailbox(2) - OpenMsgStore (0x8004011d) failed
MAPI call failed. Error 'The information store could not be opened. , LowLevelError 0, Component 'MAPI 1.0', Context 649

Permission issue? I dont see what I missed regarding security but I will double check everything.

Did you assign rights to  besAdmin to access Exchange accounts ?

Check Shreedhar's second link

Im still reading over the suggested articles (recreate information store from 1st link?) but I do not think it is a send as problem as those AD permissions are already set and working with users who DID NOT move to exch2010.

Everything in this article, http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/viewContent.do?externalId=KB02276, has been completed and the problem remains.

This is driving me nuts. Im sure it is someting stupid that I am missing...

Is this problem specific to a few users or ALL users in BES ?

Author

Commented:
It is only with users, myself and admin account at the moment, that I moved to our new exchange 2010 sever off of exchange 2003.

Item #3 in that link reads as if I need 2 installations of BES?
"Alternatively, obtain a migration kit for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server which will allow two separate installations of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (one communicating with Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, and the other communicating with Microsoft Exchange Server 2000)."

This is the first I heard about needing two installations. Any thoughts?

A few of the links required a restart after some of the tasks. This is something I have not done. The original exch 2003 BES server has not been restarted since making permission changes to the 2010 box and moving the user to exch 2010. I dont see why a restart would be needed but I can try this tonight.

Item #3 is applicable if you want BES to talk to Exchange 2003 as well as Exchange 2010 to deliver emails.

lets focus on #1 and #2 and get emails to the users in E2010

If you have followed #1 and #2 in the article - lets run with it and do a restart and see what happens.

Please take a full backup of exchange server before you do that.

Still having problems...
I will probably upgrade to the newest version of BES and see if that helps as 4.1 is not recommended with server 2008. I will be looking to convert my DB from BES 4.15 to BESX 5.1.... if anyone has a knowledge base for that... I havent searched yet.

I will attempt to do the upgrade this week and post my results.

Thank You

From the compatibility matrix looks like your only hope is 5.0.2.
