two calendars on BB (synced with BES) - one named desktop, one named device default - creates duplicates

I'm not sure exactly when this appeared (it seemed to coincide with when I did a Blackberry Transporter move from BB Professional Express 4 to BES Express 5.01), but one of my users has two calendars and it's creating duplicates only on his BB (his Outlook does not have duplicates).

When I go into the calendar (on the BB), and I go to options, I see two calendars.  The calendars are "desktop" and "device default."  They highlight appointments in different colors so I can tell that one calendar is showing some appointments in one color and the other calendar is showing duplicates in the other color.  Not all calendar items are duplicated

When I go to options, if I type rset, it says:
"this will erase your desktop calendar and reload it from your server"

It then erases all the appointments from the desktop calendar (I can tell because they are shaded a different color) but then reloads them.  I can see in the calendar that some appointments are red (desktop) and some are blue (device default).

I'd guess what I want to do is remove the device default calendar since it seems the desktop calendar is the one that it is syncing via BES.  If I hit the menu button when highlighting device default, the only options I have are call voicemail, switch application, and close.

How would I remove the device default calendar from the BB?  If I could avoid a wipe and reactivate, I'd prefer it.

Thanks

Go into the service books on the device and remove the CICAL entries for the the Default should have one in there called Desktop [CICAL] that is the only one you will need for her calendar to sync.  If that doesn't work remove all the CICAL entries and resend the service books for the account.

Open calender, click menu and options.
Highlight default calendar and just ype "move".
This will promt to move/merge the calendars.
Then highlight it again and just type "rset" This will delete the default and reload from BES server.

regarding mtydhd's suggestion, when the calendars "merge" - will the duplicates consolidate so there will be no more duplicates?  Or do you think they'll remain duplicated but just on one calendar?

I gave this suggestion to my user - who said it was successful.  Thanks
