Hi.
I need to connect to MSSQL database with PHP.
However, the hosting providers does not support mssql_connect() function in shared plans for ex. Godaddy.
Do you know a good web hosting company that supports this function in Linux plans?

Thanks.

Try this one:

Godaddy supports MySQL/SQL Server/PHP/ASP Classic and .NET as well as CF if you need it.
Also, another cheap option is:

It is an honor to be featured in Gartner 2019 Magic Quadrant for Datacenter Backup and Recovery Solutions. Gartner’s MQ sets a high standard and earning a place on their grid is a great affirmation that Acronis is delivering on our mission to protect all data, apps, and systems.

They told me they only support in virtual dedicated or dedicated servers.

I'm getting Fatal error:  Call to undefined function mssql_connect() ....

My godaddy Windows account lists mssql as supported though I haven't tried it yet.  Microsoft SQL does require a Windows hosting account.
http://www.winhost.com should be your best bet.

I don't need the database itself.
My database is located at the other server.
I only need the hosting plan that supports connecting MSSQL database.

In PHP manual it says that: (http://www.php.net/manual/en/mssql.requirements.php)
Requirements for Unix/Linux platforms.          To use the MSSQL extension on Unix/Linux, you first need to build and      install the FreeTDS library. Source code and installation  instructions     are available at the FreeTDS home page:     »  http://www.freetds.org/

But since I don't have an access to the machine, I can't install FreeTDS library.

hostgator told me they support. however I could not find another  alternative.

I  use shared Linux plan
The following host has a money-back-guarantee of 30 days, so you can test it tom make sure that it will work for you.

I also get error for that function.
Fatal error:  Call to undefined function odbc_connect()

Do you know how to enable it?
Perform a phpinfo function, save the output to an html file and upload it here.

Does the Windows server that the database is on support PHP?  If it does, you can run your queries from PHP on your Linux server thru a PHP page on the Windows server.  I know it's a two-step process but it's doable if you can't find a better way.

Here is the phpinfo page.
I opened a new U.S based account to see if it the configuration is different. (I currently use EU based hosting)

Hi,
I ended up searching an host which supports mssql_connect() function with moving to company named Pacific Host.
I suggest everyone this company who needs to connect mssql database with php in Linux server.
I just ask them to install mssql module with a ticket and they installed it within 10 minutes.
Their support is awesome. Also Ioncube, SourceGuardian modules are already installed in their servers.

Thanks everyone who replied this question. I will split points equally.
