I've looked for errant .htaccess issues...
I've replaced the wp-plugins and wp-admin folders...
I changed my theme...
Deactivated all plugins...

Basically, when I try to edit a post or page, the Visual editor buttons do not show.

When I look at the edit pages in the error console in FF, I see two javascript errors.

Both the errors seem to point to Next Gen Gallery plugin, but when I disable that, it doesn't help.
Here are the errors...

Any ideas?

Error: tinyMCE is not defined
Source File: http://mydomainname/wp-includes/js/tinymce/langs/wp-langs-en.js?ver=327-1235100
Line: 1

and:
Error: tinyMCE is not defined
Source File: http://mydomainname/wp-admin/post.php?post=737&action=edit
Line: 1004

The first error references this (line 1):

tinyMCE.addI18n({en:{
common:{
edit_confirm:"Do you want to use the WYSIWYG mode for this textarea?",
etc...

The second error references this:
