javascript only tooltip

Hello,

I'm looking for a javascript tooltip that when you hover over it it will append toward the center of the browser.

Basically exactly like this http://www.dyn-web.com/code/tooltips/
See the hoverable link within # The tooltip can contain clickable links using a hoverable option.

These guys just charge for a license, I'm looking for something a little more 'free' :)  Any ideas?

This has to be javascript only.

It is not really that hard to create from scratch.  Which example are you looking at on the page?

Near where the bullet The tooltip can contain clickable links using a hoverable option.

If you hover over the hoverable text, it will center towards the middle of the browser.  So if the link happens to be at the bottom right because of wrapping text, it will hover to the top left.  Does that make sense?

I can't seem to find a good example of something like that with only JS.

I don't know relavent this is at the moment but I will be loading it with AJAX data.  I have a jQuery version of my entire project but I'm trying to convert it to JS.
Just curious why your tryng to convert to JS from JQ?  Due to the size of the JQ include?

Yea, exactly, jQ is a 24k load on top of my 4k file that does all the brains.  Unfortunately everything I'm doing is using jQ but due to the heavy load that will request this file, I need to get rid of jQuery.

The tooltip is one piece of the entire thing but basically I'm doing cross-domain requests with jsonp within the tooltip.
Actualy the hoverable option will not position near the center of the page, the sticky option does that. The hoverable option will keep the tooltip visible for a second or so which will allow the user to place their mouse in the tooltip, if the mouse is not within bounds of the tip or the user clicks on another tip, then it closes.  Is this what you want?

Interesting, for me it worked, i'm using Chrome & FF.  Either way, the way that the sticky centers is what I want, however i want it to be having the functionality of the hoverable one.  Hope that makes sense.

The one or two second visibility I am not interested in.  Only mouse on mouse out events

That was using jQuery, now I am trying to refine my codebase to be lighter weight.

I have looked and looked for a good solid example of a Javascript tooltip that resembles that but have found none, do I have to just start from scratch?
I cant do it tonight, but will see if I can make you a quick and dirty one tomorrow.

Well I finally found a great example of something free.

The sticky style here is the closest match to my needs, I just need to modify it to disappear on mouse-out and then remove all the extra code for the other functionality.

I'll post back with a code sample when I can.

Hmm I was going to suggest Walter Zorn's tooltip library, but it seems he is no longer among us according to the comments here
