Hi there,

I always struggle when it comes to advertising large applications and the deployment fails. if I restart the advertisement I will always get the message the package already ran and therefore it will not run again. I noticed that if I refresh or reset the SMS client policy the advertisement will run again.

Can you please tell me if there is a way to refresh the client policy remotely using sms 2003 console?

If it fail first time, you can go to client machine -> Control Panel -> Run Advertised Program
do it after Refresh Policy.

Thanks
and you can go Software Distribution node - > Advertisements -> find your advertisement
- Delete it and Distribute your package again to specific collection

a-Jaleel,
I know how to do it from the PC itself but I am talking about 100's of PCs here. I am looking for a way to refresh the sms client policy from my desk. That is one thing.
Also redistributing a package that is 3GB is size will take almost 2 weeks so that option is NO.  If you know how to refresh the client policy remotely that will be great.
Thanks for your suggestion.

a-Jaleel,
I was looking at the sms console and if you highlight the computer in a collection and right click I see there are SMS tools options. If I go there I see that I have option to refresh the client policy. I think this will work now.
Thanks for your help.

Not the right solution but still a good suggestion
