I need to dissable JIT on SunOS for java v1.4 and also be able to check if its off.

Without editing the jvm.conf or passing an option -Djava.compiler=NONE <class>, how can i dissable it from shell, is there any command can type to turn it off and then check ?

Thanks in advance
