Delphi 5 Could not create output file
Hi all,
I have an old application that I built in Delphi 5 and I need to change something. So I installed Delphi 5 again, opened the project file and tried to build the project.
This last part fails with the message "[Fatal Error] Could not create output file 'c:\Path\MyApp.exe'.
I don't understand why? Any suggestions?

Just restart your computer, or goto task manager, find myapp.exe, endtask it.
Your program has an error that can't be close either. Look for the bad code.

The app is never started, I don't have the exe anymore.
There is no bad code because the app runs for about 8 years now... The code isn't changed since the last built years ago. :)

Well, it's a strange problem. As I said, the app was NOT running nor was it ever started. So it does not appear in the taskmanager (of course).
I have installed D5 in a new VM and did the same steps... now it builds just fine! So it must be something in that other VM, don't know what but don't care either.
Closing this Q and splitting the points for your efforts.

Ok, let me see again,,,
OK your VM does prohibit creating of files in that path or the others. Security reasons also.

But opening the project options also gives me an error: Access violation at address xxxxxxx. Write of address xxxxxx.
