Exchange OAB issues when using redirects

I have an exchange 2010 environment. 2 Cas\hub and 2 DB servers with DAG setup. I was trying to setup redirects on the CAS servers for the \owa followed the following document.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998359.aspx

Once I added the redirect it pretty much populated the directories below the default web site. As soon as I added the redirect the Offline address book went into error. I have removed the redirect from all the unnecessary directories, but when I remove it from the OWA directory it removes it from the Exchange, exchanweb, and public directories. The way I got around this was to have the redirect on and copy over the web.config file from the other server that I did not add the redirect on. This seems to work but I still cannot get the address book to work. I removed the remove-OabVirtualDirectory and re-added  new-OabVirtualDirectory it is showing up but when I enter the url to the oab.xml I get a server not found 500 error. Any ideas.
