Firefoc Limit on Bookmarks?

Last Modified: 2013-12-07
I noticed that the last few pages I tried to bookmark in Firefox did not take. Is there a limit?
Watch Question

Firefox saves bookmarks in a SQLite database; there are known limits to such databases: http://www.sqlite.org/limits.html

The actual size a database may take, however, is so large (many gigabytes, even terabytes) that your disk space or RAM are more likely to limit the number of bookmarks than anything else. Personally, I have thousands of bookmarks collected in over 10 years; the file still is no larger than 2 mb. Impossible to imagine that anybody would ever have a database in gigabyte dimensions.
Then what would be preventing my bookmarks from saving? I don't get any error when I save them but they do not show when I go into my bookmarks
