I've recently had to rely on Microsoft support to assist me in moving a Sharepoint 2.0 "companyweb" site from a SBS 2003 server that was no longer in use to a newly deployed SBS 2008 server running Sharepoint 3.0. After 8 hours on the phone they were finally able to move the databases and all appeared to be working correctly other than permissions didn't migrate at all. So, the sysadmin user was made a "site collection administrator" to the main level (http://companyweb
) but that still doesn't appear to be what we need in order to be able to edit the subsite (http://companyweb/billing
Based on other things I've found and read, I'm thinking that I should be seeing a "manage content and structure" option somewhere under the site settings menu but I'm not finding that.
I'm a Sharepoint newby (from both a usage and administration standpoint so all help would be greatly appreciated. And since this was a highly utilized site the quicker the responses the better. Thanks in advance and let me know if I've not provided enough details.
