VM Customization Sysprep Scripts

When I create a new "Client Windows Guest Confustomization" using the Wizard I am given the option to set the NetBIOS name to "Use the Virtual Machine Name".

However when I "Use custom Sysprep Answer File", how can I still have this ability, or how do I add "Stuff" (Such as SNMP configurations) to the wizard created file?

The goal is to create a custom file that will configure my windows VM's to meet all my needs, renaming it to the virtual machine name and configuring the other attributes that sysprep looses when run on the template.

hi,

you can use the opiton "run once" in the customization wizard to include custom commands to make the config changes on the machine.

Thanks,

How can I query VMware for the Name giving to the Virutal Machine?

Or are you saying to create a custom "Run Once" for every deployment?

The machine should already have its netbios name by the time the run-once keys are executed.
