We recently decommission a Cisco 1711 router that we use to use for a VPN. This VPN was setup by a vender of ours and we never had access to the device, yet we purchased it. I’d like to reset the router’s password and settings to default. But I’m unable to do so even following all the reset procedures I’ve been able to find.  (https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-2407;jsessionid=55EFB4D6330FCEFF436DB419100855F8.node0)

When I attempt the break sequence during startup I never get a prompt to confirm reset to default, the break sequence causes “PC = 0xfff0df4c, Vector = 0x500, SP = 0xff0027b8” to be displayed in the terminal and I get nothing else.

Any suggestions on getting this router reset?
