OS - SBS 2003 R2 Service Pack 2 Premium - After installing Symantec Endpoint the company web was broken. Endpoint was removed and these instructions were followed http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829114. When following these instructions the intranet component would fail install and I couldn't get sharepoint service to stay running. I then installed the sharepoint service pack (I believe? It was some sharepoint update) from MS Updates and the sharepoint service would stay running. I was also finally able to access the Sharepoint server instance through Visual Studio. Unfortunately, the companyweb was still not accessible. I assume that was be cause the intranet component had failed on install. Once again, I followed the instructions in KB 829114 and everything was successful, or so it seemed. Companyweb is still not accessible and now there is no MSSQL$SHAREPOINT service listed at all, and in Add/Remove there is no Sharepoint DB engine listed. Thanks for your help.
