Cannot access Documents folder when using redirect
Hi All,
I am having problems with redirection when using DFS on a Windows 2008 server. We currently have DFS setup for our network user shares in the form of \\org.local\filestore\User s\%usernam e%\documen ts with in group policy.
When the a user first logs in , the folders are created on the server for the user. But the problem is when we try to access the folders ie. Documents, favourites, contacts , it comes up with access denied.
Share permissions are full control for everyone and NTFS shares are modify for the owner of the folder.
Has anyone come across this problem ?
Many thanks
Mo

ASKER
my current permissions are
creator owner: special ( full control )
system: ( Full control )
Domain Admins: ( Full Control )
Domain Users: read, read & execute, list folder contents
I am unfortunately unable to shorten the DFS path as this is what the client has requested.

Also I am pretty sure it is recomended and may give better results to have a shorter path
so maybe try shortening the below (if that is possible)
\\org.local\filestore\User
to
\\org.local\filestore\%use
