I got a new laptop, and set up outlook for my work email.  It worked fine.

Then I decided I wanted to make a seperate user for work.  So I created a new user, and am now trying to set up outlook in the new user, but I keep getting the following message when trying to "check name"

The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable.  Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.

It is Outlook 2007 on Windows 7 -- with SBS 2003 exchange server.

This is one of those examples that prove that Outlook doesn't serve multiple masters well.  I recommend that you use separate profiles for POP and MAPI (Exchange Server).

I tried doing this, but ran into problems.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\ -- there is no "Office" key here

I dont have this
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\AutoDiscover

but I do have this

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\112.0\Outlook\AutoDiscover

but there is no zeroconfigexchange value
