"cannot connect to the phone system"
Most of my users can make calls from communicator without issue. I have one site that cannot. The error that they get is "Cannot connect to the phone system. An unidentified error has occurred. Please try again. If the problem persists, please contact your system administrator."
Our integrated phone system is Avaya.
Users are enabled for Remote Call Control
The telephony group is looking at this too and they cant find any issues.
We do have quite the mess of a firewall grid, so I am thinking maybe thats it, but I'm not sure what ports to check for this.
Any advice is appreciated!

Nope. Doesn't change anything for me. Still a matter of following the SIP packets from source to destination.

This didnt get me exactly where i needed to resolve it. my telephony group finallu resolved it by rmoving & recreating the phone switch.

They can use communicator just fine, just can't make calls using RCC. Does that change your suggestions at all? (Our phone system is avaya and I dont know anything about it, but I can get that team to check anything that I need.)
