Active KillDisk PXE/ WDS Issue
Hi folks!

We have a number of PC's that we removed the CDROMs and Floppy drives out of, and disabled the USB on in order to improve our security and protect against data loss. As a result, we use a lot of PXE boot tools/ WDS to deploy new PCs/ do rebuilds etc.

We have a licence for Active Kill Disk so we can securly wipe any HDDs before disposing of old kit, and as we don't have CDROMs or Floppy drives, it's a pain to do this, as we've needed to install a CD drive into a PC before running the s/w.

We've managed to copy the CD and create a WDS boot option and can load up the Active Kill Disk environment each time, but every time it runs, we need to enter the licence key details.

Does anyone know how to install the key into the WDS image so we don't have to enter the details each time we boot up?

Any help or suggestions gratfully received!

@tjdabomb: already tried that - they only have info on CDROM and Floppy boot options on their site. There's no info on PXE boot options. I'd raised a support ticket with their support team before posting this question, but am yet to receive a response.

Hi sickbh0y,

Would you mind sharing if KillDisk was able to dump reports of each wipe on your PXE server? And how satisfied you are with this setup. I am looking for a similar solution and was wondering. Thank you!!

Windows Server 2003 was based on Windows XP and was released in four editions: Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter. It also had derivative versions for clusters, storage and Microsoft’s Small Business Server. Important upgrades included integrating Internet Information Services (IIS), improvements to Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy (GP), and the migration to Automated System Recovery (ASR).
