I am erasing the hard drives on old laptops to remove the personal information. One is a TI Travelmate 5000. This lapltop has no CD Rom, no USB. The floppy does not appear to work. I plugged the oldest NIC PCM200 I could find since the floppy doesn't seem to work I can not load a driver.  There does not seem to be a lot of personal files but I do not know a way to make sure the personal files are written over. I do not know if opening a Word Document, deleting everything and saving the document would be enough so information can not be recovered.

I am assuming that probably the way to deal with this is to destroy the hard drive, What would be the best way render the hard drive unuseable.
