User.Identity.Name s not stored in table - Store Procedure

want to get the user name from active directory and store in a database field called UserID,,but i dont get nothing...
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
        authUserName = User.Identity.Name;

SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand("AddData", conn);
        cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;

        cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@userID", authUserName);
