Are there any DECT VOIP phones that support IAX?
I'm going to start working from home and want to have an IP phone on the home broadband that I can use to connect to the office PBX as an extension. I'd prefer to have a standalone phone as opposed to using something connected to my laptop and/or phone software like Zoiper.
I can find plenty IAX compatible corded phones...and plenty of SIP compatible cordless phones...but what I'm after is a cordless IAX phone.
Don't really want to go down the SIP over VPN route as my broadband speed at home isn't the greatest...live out in the middle of nowhere...so suspect the performance of SIP over VPN wouldn't be great.
Anybody know of a DECT cordless IAX phone? Or any other suggestions on an alternative solution?
If I can also get some sort of integration with Skype contacts for my wife to phone the relatives abroad that would be good.

Asterisk also has a skype module, though I haven't used it yet.
There are also skype cordless phones on the maket i'm told.

Yes, I had a wifi Skype phone before...in an attempt to avoid having a landline at a new house. Just had a router with a 3G card in it. It appeared that the mobile operators weren't too keen having Skype going over their £15 a month data connections. So BT won and phone ended up on ebay.
I've seen some cordless ones with Skype + SIP. Would be useful. Maybe I'll have a go with the VPN. We have LogMeIn, so might give Hamachi a try.

I do it all the time and I have a crappy dsl connection.
I've used sonicwall vpn client, hamachi vpn client, openvpn server...... all of them worked for me without issue.
..., if you actually find a cordless IAX phone though, let me know, because I want one too....
